Midea refrigerator light flickering?

The fridge’s dials on the outside of the door starts to flicker when you open the door. It also doesn’t appear to get cold enough. I’ve set it to 2 degrees overnight only to find that it has gone to 4 when I woke up. What could be the issue, it’s brand new?
